No Kids!

This was our last weekend in Suva, and we actually did a few things without the kids!
For the first time, we took advantage of two nannies and spent a night away with our good friends. We had a lovely time and are sad we won't have more opportunities to do it again in Fiji. Of course, it was nice to see the kids when we got home.
We spent Memorial Day with more friends on the upper Navua River white water rafting. The kids didn't make it on this trip, either.

This was the calm at the end of the river. We had a great trip and were very surprised that we could actually be so cold in Fiji.

We leave Suva this weekend to spend a couple of days on the other side of the island and then head off to New Zealand. Of course, we are taking the kids on this trip.

Hope to see you soon!

May Action

We are in our last month in Fiji, but things don't seem to be slowing down.
Cooper's school had a Mother's Day tea on Friday. Here they are singing a special song to their mom's. Cooper was practically the only one who sang and did the motions. He was even sick this day.Poor Lucy. She is frequently tormented and for that is now learning the squeeky wheel gets the grease. Here she is protesting Cooper putting sunglasses on her.
Lucy in action... Last night she pulled herself up to stand at this little table. She was quite proud of herself.
Cooper found the camera and took our picture last night.
Here we all are, getting ready for bed.

Zip Fiji

Saturday morning we took Cooper up for a zip lining adventure. As he said, "We flew through the forest like Superman!"
Here we are getting all set to go...
Cooper was very excited, but really had no idea what he was in for.
As usual, Cooper met a new friend, Serevi, who helped him up the hill.
Cooper and Quinn were both hooked to Quinn's tether, but Cooper was hanging on his own.
As soon as they took off from the first platform, you could hear Cooper squeal with delight.
Getting ready for line 2. After the second line we were platform to platform in the trees.
It was very fun, but scary exciting.
Coming up to the platform.
After a few rounds, they really got the hang of it.
We had a great adventure, but looking at the photos now, makes me think it might not have been the best thing to take a 3 year old on. He loved it!

Wananavu Easter Weekend

We spent the Easter weekend at Wananavu Resort on the other side of the island with our good friends the Collins/McCormack family. It was our last big weekend in Fiji before we head to the States. It was all about fun and sun this Easter.
Here is Cooper getting ready to go in his snorkel gear.
The first morning at Wananavu on the hunt for crabs.

Cooper and his best playmate Cara up to mischief as usual.

Cooper, Cara and Sean still hunting for crabs on morning 2.
On the beach in front of our bure.
Lucy enjoying her first dip in the ocean.
Cooper and Quinn playing in the pool.

The big event of the weekend was that Cooper and Cara both learned to swim without any flotation devices. They would jump in and take off swimming.
Running back to the bure (cabin) right before a storm.

Our little family standing our bure porch.

Quinn and Wati went fishing with no luck one morning. This is the resort from the boat.
Cooper and Lucy were happy to be home and back in their own beds. Here they are relaxing in Lucy's bed this morning.

Fishes!

Here are a few photos of our little fish. We had a great visit with Nana and Grampy last week. We will add more photos when Grampy sends them to us.

Cooper is 3!

Cooper started his 3rd birthday celebration with cupcakes at school, on Thursday. He was very excited to "share" his cake with his friends.
This is Cooper's class singing Happy Birthday to him.
We had a fun birthday party for Cooper on Saturday. He woke up insisting he was 2 years old and not 3, but by the time the day ended he was ok with being 3. He was very tired by the end of the day and very disappointed to learn the next day, that birthdays only last one day.
Cooper and the kids eating their cake... Do you like my elmo creations? Perhaps, I should think about a cake decorating career... The girl on the left is Cara, Cooper's best playmate. She is normally more smiley. They both licked off the frosting and left the cake.
We can't post on the blog without any photos of baby Lucy. This is Lucy after Cooper has so graciously given her a few toys to play with.
